I'm a moderate democrate
On another note: Bush DID involve some countries into the war who had nothing to do with 911, but unfortunatly Bush did not figure this out until AFTER he attacked them.MAJOR WHOOPS on Bush's part.
P.S. I want the next President to be a democrate, and would prefer that person to be a woman because Bush (the GUY) has got us in enough deep trouble already; which means that we need a WOMAN'S touch to get us out of this "mess".
(to ALL male members: I realize that this must be a bit hard to swallow, but you know and I know that this is TRUE)

*beams proudly* d@mn straight little bro!!
however, i think we need a president who will fix our problems. not necerally a women, just someone with a good head on their sholders. and the only women running this way around (so far) is hilary, and 1) i really dont think she would make a good president and 2) i dont think the world is ready for another clinton
that's my 2 cents ;D

personally i dont think being a republican or democrate matters all that much in a president (on most points, however it does matter on some points). eventually, they all end up being near the middle to appease all the people. i think the next president will probably be a democrate or an independent. i highly doubt it will be a republican. most likely of all, though, it will probably be a white christian male.

I'm not so sure... I think a lot of Democrats will vote for either Hillary or Obama just so they can say, "Oh, we're helping to elect the first ethnic/female president. We're so cool."
I'm an Akuist. I'm not a Democrat or a Republican, but I'm not in the middle either. I'm very liberal on most social issues, though.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. There are a lot of people who want to vote for Hilary or Obama just to make a statement and a record in the history books. Not the best way to choose a candidate...

ya, and as u have probably guessed, im an independent/have beliefs both democrate and republican and lebreal. i think ppl should be voted on because of skill, not "who will make history". i kinda think many ppl will vote obama, not to shure about hillary, but a lot of ppl will also vote for the conservitive. i really dont know who will win... im kinda leaning towards McCain. he understands defense, forigen policy, experienced domestic policy, and he's not swayed by polls. he does what he says he's going to do. he's a man of principle. he's more focused on helping in the war. i think we should be focusing more there. not that the other issues are less important, but the more pressing matter is the war. because while we're bickering among oursleves, good men and women are dying, and they need more of our support, help, and attention.

EVERYONE wants the war to end, Kane. It's just a matter of when, how, and at what cost. Personally, I think we did the right thing by starting this war (as far as results go) and I think we should stay in Iraq until we've fixed everything. I think we've already won, but we shouldn't leave the Iraqis with a messed up nation. It's like deliberate forest fires. They burn down a lot and kill a lot, but it's so something better and healthier can grow in its place.
Kane, you should sign the Petition of 2000... I've been reading waaaaay too much Star Wars.
Next topics....
1. How much does religion matter when picking a candidate?
2. Politically, would you be a Jedi or a Sith? Or something else?
I mean the second one not as in... "Oh, I like the color red. I'm a Sith." but as in the code and philosophy you agree with. I'm DEFINITELY a Sith. Most of you aren't. *coughSchmergocough*
Yes, the fact that Zane should sign that petition got me thinking about this. Yes, I'm a nerd. Don't bother to point it out.

1. I would generally want to vote for a Christian, but if the race is between a Jewish dude and a Christian dude whose priorities are all wrong and who generally does not seem like a good president, I'd obviously vote for the Jewish dude. I'm not sure if I'd want to vote for a Muslim... not because I have anything against them in person but because the Muslim religion affects everyday life a lot and the president would have trouble sticking to the rule of separation of church and state. And as for atheists...
2. I don't really know that much about the philosophy of the Jedi and the Sith, except I know that I would NOT want to be a Jedi. The reason why I always say I want to be a Sith just when we're joking around or whatever is because between the two, the Sith are the cooller. If life really was like Star Wars, I would not want to be either, because like Aku said, I'm definitely not a real Sith. Not all that into killing younglings or using my negative emotions to hurt other people. But if it was a skit or a video game, I'd choose the Sith.

1. See, atheists would arguably make the BEST presidents, because that way, there would be COMPLETE separation of church and state. I don't care about religion, but I wouldn't want to vote for somebody who followed their religion so strictly that it would obviously affect their decisions.
2. Schmergora, yeah... you actually would be neither... but, yeah.

AAAACK~ I just realized that my post said 'and as for atheists...' I didn't finish it!
Anyway, what I meant to say was that as long as they are the kind of atheist who just doesn't believe in God and not the kind who wants everyone who does to stop believe in God and openly mocks Christians, they'd be okay.
Yep.

It's like deliberate forest fires. They burn down a lot and kill a lot, but it's so something better and healthier can grow in its place. ive never thought about it that way...i kinda like it... anyway, i was saying that we should help our soldiers, not pull out. one, we should finish what we started. and two, our soldiers need help. im an army brat, so i tend to want to help soldiers. as for religion affecting the candidate, personally, i believe it is imposible to seperate church and state. your beliefs are your beliefs. and sith, cooler, and i kinda think that jedi *not counting yoda* are kinda wimpy. how else would their only hope be so easly turned evil...and the sith are more organized and get what they want done

YOU ANSWERED THE QUESTION THE WRONG WAY!!!! You may indeed be Sith, but you didn't look at it from a philosophy/politics standpoint. Actually, you seem more Jabba-esque to me (not the species, the job: leader of a court of thieves and stuff) which is pretty awesome.

What is thy point? But, yeah... you'd be a Jabba-type person. Ruler of a court of bounty hunters and smugglers and stuff. Go you!
Kane would be a Jedi, I think. Also Shannon. Frik can be a bounty hunter.
Did anyone read the article in TIME about voting for president based on who was nice on Myspace? Hehe.
