This seems necessary, seeing as I recieved a PM from Kane reading:
"bbbbbbbbbooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Sith are not very nice they are a bad Exampel to the children bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbboooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo."
This may have been the high point of my day.
I replied with something along these lines:
"Of course the Sith aren't very nice. The world isn't nice. We're realists. We don't try to set an example for the children. We try to make the world better for the children. What exactly is so great about the Jedi and their precious Republic?"
Let the debate go on.
Peace is a lie; there is only passion Through passion, I gain strength Through strength, I gain power Through power, I gain victory Through victory, my chains are broken The Force shall free me
- the Sith Code
There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; there is serenity. There is no death; there is the Force
- the Jedi code
For educational purposes, I present you with some Sith philosophy:
"Two there should be. No more, no less. One to embody power, the other to crave it." - Darth Bane (The Rule of Two)
"Tell me what you regard as your greatest strength, so I will know best what to undermine you. Tell me of your greatest fear, so I will know what I must force you to face. Tell me what you cherish most, so I will know what to take from you. And tell me what you crave, so that I might deny you" - Darth Plagueis
Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hatred leads to power. Power leads to victory. Let your anger flow through you. Your hate will make you strong. True power is only achieved through testing the limits of one's anger, passing through unscathed. Rage channeled through anger is unstoppable. The dark side of the Force offers unimaginable power. The dark side is stronger than the light. The weak deserve their fate. –tenets of Sith philosophy (A bit outdated, but still okay... I guess.)

they are also far more strategic, their code makes far more sence for the real world. they arednt clouded with trying to get only the good to win, they see the whole picture. they seem to understand other's, including their apponant's, thoughst better than the jedi. and their not as easly manuplated. do you see any sith being tricked into becoming jedi?
and you probably are what?

Oh yeah, well Dark Plagueis is a STUPID NAME. So there!
I think it's dumb to be an extremist of any sort. Either way, you're only deluding yourself. The Sith use their emotions, the Jedi use their morals. You have to use a small amount of each. (Is a political moderate.)
And killing younglings is an incredibly bad thing to do. You can't say that's making the world better for the kids, because THEY'RE DEAD.
On the other hand, banning marriage for Jedi is also bad. Those pent-up hormones have to go SOMEWHERE. And that's not a good idea.

Darth Plagueis is an AWESOME name!!!!
Okay, listen to me. We don't go around killing younglings all day. It's not like we wake up and go, "I'm bored. I think I'll slaughter small children!" It was necessary at that point, and it was only the Jedi younglings.
"A moment of agony is better than centuries of ache." - Darth Vader
Kane, we have to work to gain power too. The starting level is higher, and the rate at which our power rises is higher. That's why Dark Jedi almost always fail: they think the Dark Side is a faster version of the same thing with no responsibility. That's not true. The truth is that the Dark Side requires just as much work, only of a different kind, but once you've mastered it, you're more powerful by far than the Jedi fools.
Secondly, we have morals. We use them more than the Jedi do, actually, because we ACT. If a mass murderer is standing in front of us, we don't just let him get away to do more harm because he doesn't have a weapon. We kill him then, saving maybe hundreds of innocent lives. The important thing is being strong enough to make that sacrifice.
We don't hurt people if at all possible, and the reason we want power is to fix things, to do things decisively instead of sitting around and talking about it and being wimps. If people get in our way, that is unfortunate for them. A TRUE Sith will give up power if they think somebody else will manage the world better than they are.
What makes the Jedi so great, eh? They're hypocrites and weaklings, the lot of them. Except possibly Qui-Gon.

*raises hand* grey jedi. the old fashioned sith codes are almost completely disregarded by moders sith, they just want power and nothing else. the jedi have a nice idea, but come on. nobody's morals are THAT high. but i must say taht the whole gaining power through bitterness and rage doesn't seem healthy. using anger to achieve a better end...it just doesn't seem to add up. i mean, never just GETTING OVER IT like a CERTAIN athsmatic sith lord we all know and immitate is just going to drive you crazy in the end. i don't know, whatever. i vote grey jedi.

"Your died wrong"? I'm not even going to ask what that means.
They DON'T keep the peace, though. They're filthy hypocrites. They all say, "Oh. We accept everyone because we are hippie dudes." and then they go off and kill people just because of what they believe.
Well, Frik has a good point, though I'm highly amused that having no lungs is now known as asthma. o.O Also, the Sith don't ONLY use their rage; it's just that that tends to be the strongest emotion people have.
Did I point out yet that, though Jedi can't use many Dark Side powers, the Sith can use all of the Jedi's abilities and more?

They're the Sith's equals, eh? Wow... so, there are two Sith and thousands of Jedi... heehee.
The Jedi must have a lame job if all they do is stop the Sith. We certainly have nothing against the Jedi, unless they stand in our way. Palpatine only eradicated the Jedi because they would have killed him and taken over the Senate if he hadn't, and it would have prolonged the war.
"Well, from my point of view, the Jedi are evil!" -Darth Vader
