You Know You're Obsessed With HP When...

Let's make a list!

1. You call it HP. And everyone knows what you mean.
2. You've read every book at least four times.
3. You shout out every little difference between the books and movies. In the theatre.
4. You always rant about how you hate the film afterward, and yet you go see the next one the day it comes out.
5. You wear a costume to school to celebrate the books or movies coming out.
6. You attend the midnight release of each new book.
7. You call escalators "escapators" and electricity "eckeltricity" sometimes, just to see if people notice.
8. You write HP fanfic.
9. You lecture about minute details of HP when they get them wrong.
10. Your dad has taken to calling Dumbledore and Gryffindor "Dumbledorf and Gryffernorf" because he knows you hate it.
11. You name your pet after an HP character.
12. You write out lists of every character ever mentiond in HP because you're bored.
13. You write out elaborate daydream plots in your head that insert you into the HP world.
14. You call J.K. Rowling "Jo".
15. You write out lists like these.

You mutter nonsense Latin words under your breath.

You call your least favorite teacher Snape.

Your computer says "You've Got Mail" and you run outside looking for an owl.

You actually ask for a broom for Christmas.

You mutter "lumos" under your breath every time you turn on a flashlight.

You sort everyone you meet into the four Hogwarts houses (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin).

You were burned when you couldn't get through the flames of your fireplace.

You had to go to the hospital after you broke your nose running headfirst into the wall between platforms nine and ten.

The wand order mistake in GoF drove you crazy, and even after it was "corrected" you still came up with dozens of theories to explain why that happened.

You point at normal things like parking meters and say "Look at the things these Muggles dream up!"

You collect plugs.

You try on every piece of silvery fabric your mom has to see if you turn invisible.

Before getting up to get something, you always try to summon it first. Accio TV remote!

You watched "Love, Actually" because two minor Harry Potter actors were in it.

You were reduced to tears when you finally had Book 5 in your hands.

You refer to your Chemistry class as Potions.

You spend hours tapping bricks in special orders, hoping that a secret entrance to Diagon Alley will appear.

When playing chess, you yell orders to the chess players and get upset when they don't move.

You yell into the "fellytone."

You get emotional every time you hear "Hedwig's Theme".

You say "wicked" all the time because Rupert Grint does.

You get thoroughly overexcited every time you see a word somewhere that is distantly linked with HP (ie. Saint Hedwig's).

You name all of your pets after HP characters.

You get into heated arguments over how much gel Tom Felton had in his hair in the first two movies.

You know that Harry's birthday is July 31, 1980, Hermione's birthday is September 19, 1979 and Ron's birthday is March 1, 1980 even though it was never said in the books.

You refer to Voldemort as "You-Know-Who", and no one has any idea who you're talking about.

You went out and bought the latest editition of the Webster's Dictionary because they added the word "Muggle".

You were kicked out of the movie theater for standing on your chair, throwing your shoe at the screen and yelling "THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN IN THE BOOK!"

You count the days until you're old enough for your Apparation license, and everyone else thinks you're talking about driving.

Your free time on the computer is spent constantly refreshing your favorite Harry Potter news site (MuggleNet, of course), hoping for an update.

Meh. I was only using things that actually apply to me. I honestly don't think anyone calls their least favorite teacher "Snape" or tries on silvery fabric to see if it turns them invisible. Or actually attempts to run through walls or fireplaces. So, new rule. Youcan only post something if it actually applies to you.

16. You try to use spells like "Lumos" and "Accio" before remembering that it isn't going to work.
17. When there's a blackout, you sometimes shout, "It's a dementor!!!"
18. You can get positively nasty when somebody inslts your favoite characters.

erm...is it sad that i do or have done almost every one of these? and what's the wand order mistake?

suprizenly, i used to be really obsessed, these are some of the things i have done:

1) you waited for the year you turned of age to get your hogwarts letter only to realize in 6th grade that if they wanted you, they would have sent you an owl by now....

2) everytime you see a white owl you think, "look hedwig!"

3) when you saw several owls in the day you thought, "gee, something important must be going on..."

4) you wore your hogwarts costume to temple for the purim...even though you werent invited to the costume party

5) was hermonie granger for 5 years in a row for haloween

6) you bought the last copy of goblet of fire in the boarders and wont stop talking about it

7) after buying the book you danced around, then when asked by a reporter to read the book and was to nervious to read for the news, claimed it was written in invisible ink

8) have tear stains on the pages where sirius and dumbledore died

9) have a dent in the corner of said books from where you threw it at the wall after re-reading said passages to make sure they said what you though they said

10) constantly refer to umbridge as the "frog lady" and people know what you mean

11) everytime you go to a train station look for platforms 9 and 10 and contemplate running headlong into it to see if it will take you to platform 9 3/4 but are constantly foiled by your parents guessing what you are thinking and taking you away

12) constantly take the sorting hat quiz to make sure you really belong in Gryffindor and they hand not just placed you at random

13) sang the sorting hat song for a week straight just because you could

14) got fake harry potter glasses, taped them, and wore them around untill your brother stole and broke them

15) nearly killed your brother when he ripped the cover of your first book and then almost killed your mother when she sujested to tape it because you said tape would ruin it more

16) barly opened the book to make sure the spine didnt creace

17) constantly ran around on your "nimbus 2000"

18) carried around your crookshanks and nimbus and hat and wand as well as your candy bag on haloween

19) screamed in the theater when they got lines wrong and through your popcorn when ron got detention instead of nevil in the first movie

20) vow never to watch another movie because they are such an insult to the books but then have your parents take you out of school early or even skip the day of school to see the next movie

does anyone else think that it's sad that though i used to be so obsessed that now i got a 14/248 on a hp character's quiz? mind you, it was quite a difficult quiz...it used specific names of characters talked about once and what color their socks were. and you had to use correct spelling, so you can probably guess how well i did on that.
