Bother if JK has said anything about how they're pronounced-- I want to know how you pronounce them instinctively? I think, as noted above, that Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are pretty self-explanatory as to pronunciation.
The two different pronunciations I list for the other two houses:
Sly-ther-in: first syllable is the word sly.
Slither-in: emphasizes the slithering aspect of Slytherins in its pronunciation by the use of "slither" as the first two syllables.
Gry-fin-dor: First syllable rhymes with rye, or sly, for that matter!
griffin-dor: emphasizes griffin association.
I'm just curious. I also happen to pronounce Voldemort with the t, and (from Redwall, slightly irrelevant) pronounce Salamandastron differently than Brian Jacques does.
