What do you think of Beauty and the Beast?
I'll go first: I love this musical, even though I'm starting to get a bit tired of it, mainly because of how hard the clarinet part is! It even made my friend who was the first chair clarinet for two years in a row said, "I don't think I could play that, Remora" when I asked him how hard it looked to him.
And on a positive note, our matinee today was wonderful!...At least compared to Friday's, which made our conductor want to curl up under the stage extention around the orchestra pit and die. Even though all the microphones randomly died today during Be Our Guest, so even the conductor got lost and we kind of made up the music through the whole thing...And something weird went on with Babette. Her microphone wasn't on the entire play...But I love the guy who plays Gaston, he's completely hilarious, and he was voted "Weirdest Drum Major" which in itself, makes him awesome in my book...Plus, his little tap dance routine in rehearsals when the conductor missed the cue for the beginning of the song Me made the entire orchestra laugh so hard we couldn't even play when the song started...Or at least the wind instrument people...
