I just looked it up on BabyNameAddicts.com: As you most likely know, "Viktor" means "victorious." Did you know that "Ron" also means "victor" or "victorious"?
I kid you not.
Why is this important? And why should you care? *shrugs*
All I know is that it interests me.
Smiles, Luna

Awesome! I love meanings of names...when I'm naming characters in my story, the meanings of their names always have some subtle connection to either who they're based off of or something like that (for instance, Kay, I got from King Arthur's knight, 'cause my nickname for him is "my knight" which, in turn, is from a very strange dream. *rambles*)

Luna, that is the most wonderous thing ever. Seriously the most wonderous thing ever. You have no idea how excited I am.
I'm... dumb... I thought Kay was reeeeeeal all of these months. I knew you used him in your stories, but I thought he was a real person as well. (Unless he is a real dude, and Kay is your nickname for him, but his real name is, like, Bartholomew or something.)
I don't always pick significant names (I picked Jordan and Emma and Tyrone because I liked them), but there is a bit of significance to some of the names, like Charybdis, Ophidias, and Ivy (it can be poisonous OR a sign of loyalty! And it's clingy!). But mostly, I just pick names that I think fit the character's personality. Like, the name Tyrone has kind of a big, booming sound to it-- it sounds both regal and like the crazy dude down at the corner, which I think fits his personality. "Tancred Apple" sounds both sweet and rancid, which I think is fitting. "Wolfgang Quinn"... well, I just love that name.

I just based a character off of him in my story...and chose the name Kay for him. He actually likes it better than his real name (which isn't Bartholomew....I can just imagine the look on his face if I named him Bartholomew). Most of the people I talk about ARE real (*gasp*) but I also have characters based off of them. Like, Tanna really IS my sister, but that's actually not her name.

OMGZ I GET IT!!!! Okay, now I totally understand. Thanks so much for explaining! Just like how Kiren Brockett's real name is not Kiren Brockett!

Going back to my days as a rabid Redwall fan... I named a fanfiction badger Mountera--this is almost the exact same name as a yarn made by Classic Elite.
Then I proceeded to name my RP personality on DAB "Cetera" pronounced "set-era"(but ran together)... I didn't realize until I was looking up classifications of clouds (of all things--and I continually either mistyped or miswrote them as clounds) that "cetera" is part of the familiar Latin phrase "et cetera".
And I made up a name, Ailen, which is actually a real name from some South American people or something (meaning "little coal", oddly appropriately) even though I think I was actually playing around with variants on the syllable "lin" and possibly the name "Eileen"
