Okay, observations... -the world is no longer one color. We've moved away from solids and back to the land of PS through GoF. Does this mean anything? -well, we've got a Voldemort and a Harry in an arena-type thing. Why, it seems there's going to be a grand showdown! We had no idea... -What's with the curtains? It looks like a play, particularly with those people in the background watching. -Nobody has a wand.... is this because of Priori Incantatem or has something happened to their wands? -Who are the stinkin' people in the background? Death Eaters? Order members? Reporters? They look like they're wearing hoods. -The. Sky. Is. Orange. Like... an erupting volcano? XD Or is Mars just ESPECIALLY bright? -They are SO in Rome. -Harry has something around his neck... it looks like a bag of something. or a bulla. Hey, those are Roman! (Someone, slap me.) -Harry is wearing a green shirt. Slytherin link or Aku stupidity? Take your pick. -The way Harry's arm is outstretched reminds me of the first cover, like he's going to catch something. he certainly doesn't look like he's attacking Voldy, or like he's even noticed Voldy is there. -Broken wood and rocks=huh? -Voldy looks like he could take the place of one of the witches in Macbeth and nobody would notice. -Nice manicure, Volders. -

Time for the British child one...
-On the back, a castle (Hogwarts? Does this mean they go back?) looks strangely fairytale-ish. The whole cover seems too cheery for such a dark book.
-SNAKE IN AN ORB!!!!! Thanks amigo? Nagini? In essence divided? There's a window behind the snakey.
-Harry looks forty years old. XP
-Tweasure. Ooh, shiny. "of the "of the Horcrux, wickedest of magical inventions, we shall not speak nor give direction...", wickedest of magical inventions, we shall not speak nor give direction..."es? A Gringotts vault?
-The sky is orange again.
-Ron has a sword. Is it the sword of Gryffindor? How cool is that?
-Are they being sucked out? Pushed in? Jumping in to grab something? Like that emerald and green orb-y thing?
-Hi, Prongs! *waves to patronus, or possibly ice sculpture*

Time for the ordinary Brit one... I'm having so much fun...
-Why does the author thing mention "Rabbit"? It seems like an insignificant thing to put in an author's bio. Unless it's important.
-Is that the locket? That is the coolest thing I have ever seen. *huggles it*
-Ooh, stone. The stone looks wet, like it's in a cave with a lake. But, that can't be right...
Whoo! I'm having tons of fun.

I just thought of something... This doesn't look so much like the showdown to me... Harry looks like he's... summoning something... and he doesn't seem to have noticed Voldemort... Voldy looks a bit like he's throwing his hands up like "No, don't do that!"
It looks like Harry is invoking some ancient power and Voldy is trying to stop him.

Those people in the background could be... gravestones? The more I look at them, the more it seems they are.
Harry could be holding up his hand to let something (Fawkes?) land there.
In the Brit kid one, the moon is HUGE.
The stone that locket is on couldn't be hardened lava, could it? (Again, slap me.)
If those people are people, they look a little like huge heads... giants? Easter Island type things?
DUDE! Take a look at your PS cover, will you? I see... outstretched hand, arches and pillars, curtains, a semi-orange sky, a silver hoofed animal, Hogwarts, and... yeah. Whoa.
What think you?

You, know, the person in the back of the book doesn't have to be voldie... it could just be a random guy... well,, you know what I mean... it doesn't have to be voldie... maybe it could be like, his mini-me =]

Ron does not have a sword. Look closely. The sword is being held by a creepy sort of claw-type goblin hand. Either Dobby's there with them, or-- as is the theory I've been predicting to occur in every book since OotP-- they're in Gringotts and a goblin revolt is occuring. Why does Ron's facial expression look so much like Rupert Grint's?
I prefer the American cover, which is orange, my very favourite colour. I think Voldemort looks cute. Conversely, Harry looks like Steffen. Even moreso than the cover of HBP.

OH MY GOSH, YOU'RE RIGHT! There is something house-elf-ish clinging to Harry... How did I miss that? Is it Dobby, Kreacher, Winky, a goblin? Friendly or not so much? Nice ears.
Again, how did you notice that? I had to enlarge it via Paint to see it...
Looking at their injuries, Harry looks the most beat up, Hermione next, but Ron doesn't have a scratch on him.

How could I not notice it? Unless something very odd happens to him, Ron does not have creepy hands. My opinion is that Harry, Ron, and Hermione are being dragged out of the vault by evil rebelling goblins. Yep.

His hand looks rather entish to me, on the American cover (No I won't explain who I mean, and I haven't read Deathly Hallows, and in all likelihood won't.)
And for some reason I read SNAPE rather than "SNAKE", so I thought that both the potions master and Nagini (or other UDDER*) should be in crystal orbs when I looked at the British cover.
And I had a different picture in mind for Slytherin's locket.

I agree with the Ent-ish part. I also really like the American cover, and I'm not just saying that because I'm used to it! When I first saw the British cover, I thought that yellow stuff was lava, and that they were being sucked in to something. I didn't really look closely or anything, though, just glanced at it.
