What did you think of the book? How were your midnight party experiences if you went to one?
I'm writing this before getting the book, so I have nothing to post as of yet.
Let's hope the book is good and our favourite characters live!

Its a good thing i've already finished the book, or i would've considered that a spoiler....you wouldn't like what i do to people who post spoilers...
Seriously though, there may be some people on this site that haven't read it yet... don't ruin the last HP book for them...

I think that someone should label this a spoiler thread or something so that people who have read the book can discuss it.

I actually already consider this a spoiler thread. I mean, it's called Deathly Hallows. What do they think we're going to be doing? It's a DISCUSSION.
Snape is amazing!!!!! Why am I not Lily Evans? Why? Why?
Everybody took awesomeness potion because they are all outstanding. I still think we should have gotten to see Remus and Tonks' death scene.
This book ripped to shreds basically every fictional character of mine ever, except Tyrone, Evelyn, Phoenix, and Rachel. And Rose Dursley. Phooey. Not that I'll stop with my version of the story, of course.
Voldy's death was a bit... disappointing to me, I guess because I had expected Jo to throw us some super doom twist on the prophecy that nobody had been expecting, but she... didn't.
I mourn for Nagini. She was a good snake, no matter who she worked for. (That's okay, Neville, I still like you.)

well in that case, I really miss Fred...oh and have you heard that the character that got a reprieve (from death) was Mr. Weasley in OotP and the character whose death that was not planned from the beginning was Lupin (obviously in DH)?
oh... and that she has now promised to write a HP encyclopedia... That should be useful because I am rather curious about what happened to Trevor and Tonks' mother

BEST QUOTES EVER!!!
For those Harry/Draco shippers...
'Malfoy was screaming and holding Harry so tightly it hurt.' ~ p. 634, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
And for those who thought Jo wouldn't say cuss words in the HP series...
'NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU B-I-T-C-H!' ~ p. 736, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, said by Mrs. Weasley
Like, L-o-L!

I was a little suprised at the deaths, to be honest. I expected Neville, Hagrid, Ron, or another Teacher (Other than Snape) to die.....

Yes! Those were exactly the people I thought would die, and I thought Draco was a goner, too. I had NO IDEA both Mr. and Mrs. Lupin would die, and Fred... I'd been hoping since book one that that wouldn't happen. One twin gone? That's just tragic. And Dobby... I had no idea I'd be so sad! Voldemort's death really disappointed me at first, but on second reading (I read it aloud to my brother and sister), I actually thought it was awesome! At first, I was annoyed that Voldemort had been killed by a spell, but what with the complications of the Elder Wand and Harry's horcrux-ness, it was pretty cool. The whole battle leading up to it was great, too-- Battle mandrakes, Trelawney flinging crystal balls, Percy's entrance, etc. My favourite parts of the book were related to Ron and Remus, both of whom have always been my favourite characters and quintupled in awesomeness in this book (even though a lot of people are convinced Remus was an idiot in this one... no, he was a dynamic character). I died when he burst through the door and roared, "IT IS I! REMUS JOHN LUPIN!" I find the fact that Snape did everything all for Lily IRREVOCABLY LAME. I'm sorry to anyone who liked that, but that (and the fact that the 'good' characters performed unforgiveable curses) really bothered me, while I thought the rest of the book was fantastic. Really, Snape is an intelligent, independent. There's no need for him to slave away after Lily... that was pathetic, not sweet. And slightly creepy. I was never a huge fan of Snape's, but the one thing I liked about him was the way he was so cynical and snarky and he just didn't care what anyone else thought. Having him a slave to love was depressing and disgusting. I loved Great Aunt Muriel, and Potterwatch. Neville was hardcore and the twins were at their best (*sob*), and even Ron and Hermione's kiss was not too mushy. In fact, I quite liked their relationship in this book. But my favourite thing was the Malfoy family. I've always had this idea that they love each other like crazy but hate everyone else... and in this book, it actually came true! Narcissa saved Harry's life-- that was so awesome. I bet she still walks Draco around on a kiddie leash and tucks him into bed at night. Luna's room was cool. Oh, by the way, I wrote a poem about Voldemort: A Eulogy To Voldemort By Schmerg_The_Impaler
May your soul rest forever in pieces, dear Vold.
Just the good die young, which is why you died so old
I can't say there's any chance that you'll be missed
I'll admit if you hadn't died, I would be... irritated.
With your translucent skin so like parmesan cheese
And your eyes quite as red as mine with allergies,
With your spidery hands and your shiny bald head,
You are one ugly dude lying there cold and dead.
Your nose? It's not there, and your lips don't exist
But then, that's no problem; you'll never be kissed.
You look almost peaceful, just like you're asleep
Except the scene's sans Mr. Snooks, your stuffed sheep.
When you died, did your life fly past like a bad dream?
Was it like a slide-show of your horrid regime?
Looking back, did you ever feel any remorse
Other than that drunk night with the lampshade and horse?
You killed so many people, wrecked so many lives
Plus your cooking stinks, man-- who would trust you with knives?
You've been plotting and scheming for so very long
Even six-sevenths of your soul are gone.
Life would give you an inch, and you'd snatch a mile
But I have to admit that you always had style.
You went out with a bang-- that's meant literally
Last words were the Death Curse; hey, it beats "Look at me."
Life won't be the same without you threat'ning its end.
We were such enemies, you were almost a friend.
You've been tearing apart our world so many years
That by now, you've got less fans than George has got ears.
But somehow, you've wormed your way into my heart
And it now feels as charred as a flaming pop-tart.
I can't say that anyone suffers from grief
But you always were my source of comic relief.
