YOU SHOULD WATCH MONTY PYTHON!
My whole youth group is obsessed with it. It's fantastic-- we're always talking about it.

They're just random silliness. The Holy Grail is about King Arthur's knights going on a quest (and being incredibly bizarre), The Life of Brian is about a man who was constantly mistaken for Jesus, and The Meaning of Life is about, well, what it sounds like. The Flying Circus is the television programme, and is a bit like Saturday Night Live, only British.

At least spell 'Ni' properly... you're like Sir Bedevere. "Ummm... Nu! Nu!" "No, it's 'Ni!'"
Watch it morrrrrre... because Python is sheer brilliant and you'll never see the world the same way again.

I've read about it but never actually seen it. And I'm searching for MP&tHG, but it seems to be missing at the library. And I did get the mother was a hamster and father smelt of elderberries reference, probably because I ended up googling "What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen sparrow?" after I took a survey. And you know, some people made reference to Monty Python, some answered "42", a significant percentage said "43" (?!) and I believe a few said "24" Odd, very odd. I think I first learned about it because some characters were demanding a shrubbery from Brocktree (and saying Ni!), the LSD-addicted treasurer of Salamandastron or maybe the rubber chicken factory( here. Warning: if you haven't read the Redwall series and/or don't have a crazy sense of humor and/or aren't familiar with online role-playing, you won't may not get it. But I still think you should read it. I didn't write it, but I love the craziness.), then because in a list of ways to annoy Snape, the Lumberjack song was suggested. I also found references to the Spanish Inquisition in a book of assorted stories about Mexican imigrants--a boy was trying to buy tickets, and somebody or another kept saying "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" And in a trailer I found on AOL, it seems to indicate that Life of Brian is rated R. Why, pray tell?

I have a friend in RL who watched it and said there was one scene her parents made her skip. I'm assuming it wasn't something she'd want to see anyway, based on the way she said it, but I'm not sure exactly what happened. The rest was fine, though, she said...

I don't know... Wikipedia's entry says something about Roman centurion Naughtius Maximus being Brian's father.... (you know, the r-word...) I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
