So, here's my first poem. I wrote it around February, and I'm posting it now because, well, I just signed up. It's about an 11 year-old when she's waiting for her Hogwarts Letter.
I sit, gazing out at the cloudless sky. Quietly I wait, silent as a deer. My mother knows, she knows just why I sit, peering out this window here.
My eleventh birthday came last week. I'm waiting for my letter. The piece of parchment that I seek Will come today. It better.
This school I speak of, it's known by all As the greatest school of wizardry. At Hogwarts, I start in the fall. This is why I'm excited, you see.
Finally, at half past four, A dark shape appears in the sky. After eleven years, I don't have to wait anymore! When it gets close, I think I might cry.
It flies through the door, I take off the roll of parchment. My fingers fumble, it drops to the floor, I pick it up in my excitement.
I tear it open, past the seal, The envelope drifts away. My eyes scurry across the page, it seems almost unreal. I tear throughout the house - my letter came today!
Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I don't own Hogwarts or Owl Post, but I do own my creative inspiration. Even if I did say I was J.K Rowling, you wouldn't believe me, and I might get sued for it.
