I thought Wall*E was really good, but the blatant in-your-face morals kind of made me feel uncomfortable, especially since it's by Disney/Pixar, one of the most money-grubbing materialistic corporations in the world (and I love it for being money-grubbing and materialistic... LOTS OF MERCH TO BUY!). The robots were adorable, the Michael Crawford was much appreciated, the humour was cute, the plotline was exciting, the ending was satisfying (did you stay for the credits?), and all that, but... did they have to be so moralizing?
Nonetheless, I liked it, and I thought it was cool they could make a good movie without much dialogue. It just made me feel awkward, and I'd have to place it behind "Finding Nemo" and "The Incredibles," both films that I love to bits.

That reminds me of a rant that I posted on my website:
It was about music, and why the kids in my class were complaining about the teacher playing it.

Yeah, but joining up with Disney is just a sign of them being so money-grubbing! And their movies gross huge amounts of money, and they sell all kind of merchandise. I don't have a problem with that-- corporations are out to get money, that's what they're for-- but I think Wall*E is just a tad hypocritical. Especially since they're making Wall*E merchandise and selling it and putting Wall*E stuff in Disney parks (because what is that flying cruise from Wall*E if not Disney World?) It didn't bother me that much, but it left a bad taste in my mouth at the end of an otherwise enjoyable movie. Side note: Did y'all know that the guy who kept singing those songs that Wall*E played over and over during the movie is the same guy who played the original Phantom in "The Phantom of the Opera?" In "Hello Dolly" (the musical Wall*E likes) www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbBnXryfjg4In "Phantom" www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CDSux38GrAGotta love Emcee MC.

I saw Prince Caspian last week, and for some reason, I kept thinking "Havelock Vetinari! Vetinari!" whenever I saw Miraz... Other than that, the movie doesn't follow the plot of the book real closely if I remember correctly(Kind of like LOTR:TTT) but it's okay all the same. I think there were female centaurs, and I didn't really like the way they did Trumpkin. (I like the LOTR movie dwarves better.) (Is it PTerry who initially spelled "dwarves" and later changed to "dwarfs"?). I haven't seen Wall*E or the Dark Knight. (I don't watch a lot of movies. POTC, LOTR, I'm attempting to watch all three Shrek movies, Narnia, and some kids' movies, like Ratatouille, or Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang*. Oh, and the Phantom of the Opera(Sing once again with me, our strange duet!), Mary Poppins (Chim-chiminey-chim-chim-cherree, a sweep is as lucky as lucky can be...) and part of The Sound of Music (Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens...) I want to watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but I can't find it at the library.)
*When I was little I tried to rhyme with this phrase(you know, like bell, fell, well, tell, smell, etc.) and I got reprimanded. I don't recommend doing so, as I (now realizing this) produced a bad word that happens to be used in the song "You Won't Succeed on Broadway(If you don't have any Jews)"
Ankh: I wouldn't mind reading the rest of this. Could I have a linky?

That's basically the rant, but we rant about various topics alot. I'll give you the link, though, since I only have three members at the moment (Remora, myself, and a friend of mine from real life).

Prince Caspain is the only one I've seen, and it was good, but I was sad that it didn't include the HBP trailer. (I think there was a rumour in the Slytherin Common Room on MNFF that there would be one.)
I might get to see Get Smart this week, though!

Yeah, my friend was going to invite me to see "Get Smart," but my phone lines were down for two whole days, so he couldn't get in touch, and he went without me. You're going to have to tell me about it if you see it!

I saw Prince Caspian, and it was awesome. It would have been really cool if it had the trailer. Too bad. I also saw wall.e, which I thought was the cutest movie ever! I haven't seen Get Smart or Indiana Jones. I don't even think that Get Smart has even come to our theater yet, because we get our movies la week or two after they come out. We live in a small town with only one theater-- we have to go to a bigger town to see them the day they come out.

Just saw Prince Caspian! I absolutely LOVED it. Mainly because.... EDMUND IS JORDAN POTTER! He looks and sounds exactly like Jordan should. I just sat there staring at him. And he was by far the most hardcore part of the movie, especially since I've always DETESTED Peter.
The best part was during the humongous battle when Miraz was leaning over the railing. My sister and I started singing, "This is NOT what I want! This is NOT what I planned! And I've just gotta SAAAAAAY... I DO NOT UNDERSTAND!" (From High School Musical.)

You know, they all do resemble the way I pictures them from your descriptions. Except haley, i never pictured her as Alexis Bledel.

I agree... Alexis Bledel has the right colouring-- dark hair, light eyes, pale skin, freckles-- but her features don't really look anything like Haley's. Haley looks really young and small and I picture her with a little gap in between her front teeth.
