Do your part to help the environment, starting with recycling! Every piece of paper, soda, newspaper, and water bottle matters. Don't be lazy: Recycle them!
Take shorter showers to conserve water. The suggested timeframe is about five minutes.
Avoid opening the oven to check on your food; this wastes heat and energy. Instead use the "Oven Light" feature.
The microwave uses a lot less energy than the oven. If possible, use the the microwave to heat your food.
Try to keep the fridge door shut as much as you can, this will save energy that's needed to cool the inside.
Unplug chargers and nightlights when your not using them. They're using wasted energy.
Dim the brightness on your cell phone; you'll charge it less often.
Avoid flying. Planes are terrible for the environment. If your trip is across land, consider a train ride. It has significantly fewer emissions than a plane, plus you and your friends a sing/talk "Music Man." ("But he doesn't know the territory!")
Buy Energy Star-rated appliances when replacing old ones.
Buy recycled paper, then recycle it when your done with it.
Instead of turning the air conditioning way up in the winter, put on a sweater. It's cheaper and greener.
Use reusable bags when you go to stores, not just at supermarkets.
Use reusable paperclips instead of staples.
Use manual pencil sharpeners instead of electric pencil sharpeners.
Spread the word about being green.
Please feel free to add your green tips.
