The gays, Les's, Bi's..etc...Are only the new Blacks... Are you kidding me? Gays are the new blacks? Did you really just say that? First of all, dont make it sound like a new trend. "gays are the new blacks" sounds like "pink is the new black" take it more seriously Second, you also tried to make a point about the "opressive white males" Are you kidding me? All you were trying to do was take a shot at white people. A lot of gay people ARE white males. "gay" is not a race, it is a preference. Third, gay people have not gone through half of what black people did. Black people were forced to use different facilities, go to different schools, work different jobs and were denied rights. Public places were not for their use. Gay people have not been through any of that. I've never seen a bathroom with a sign that says "Gay" on it. Saying gay people are "the new black people" is an insult to black people. Gay people CAN get married in some states, and still have rights. Black people were discriminated ALL OVER the country and had to fight for years for any rights. Try not to be so ignorant it really disturbed me when I read this. Woah...I'm sorry...Now that I read this it basicly kicked myself in the...well... My granddad was a black panther so allot of my history about oppression comes from him or my mom (His daughter) who isn't as bad when it comes to being bias in history... It makes you wonder...When you get to that point in fighting against oppresion...you can only be as forcefully till you get to that point where you basicly become what you set out to destroy... (Yes I do have a vintage fist-pick from back in the day..But I am definitely not a beliver of the kill whitey radicalism/raceism who believes that you have to fight fire with fire...Only to learn later...that you will get seriously burned...))

okay, i agree with schmerg...i don't really think that homosexuals would particularly appreciate being compared to werewolves, but from a social standpoint, it is a good analogy i may point out that, as far a religion is concerned, many aspects of christianity were screwed up pretty bad in the midievil period, with the church getting wildly powerful and, inevitably, disgustingly corrupt. the pope back then could do pretty much whatever the he11 he wanted. if he didn't like gays, he could have it put in the bible that homosexuality was a sin, and who was about to oppose him? what i'm saying is that jesus or god or what have you may never have said that at all. maybe they did. maybe it's in the torah and quran too, i don't know, i'm not jewish or muslim. if it isn't, i know it's not about to be changed. they aren't going to go back through the bible and say "...hmmm, well, frank, what do you think? does this sound like something jesus would say to you?" on that note, i agree with vam. if a christian church doesn't want to marry two men, they don't have to. it's already been in the bible for a few hundred years at least, it isn't about to change. but most of the marriage debate is mainly focused on the benefits of being married. a married couple has a huge financial advantage over an unmaried pair. it is undeniable predgeduce to deny a couple that right simply because of their sexual preference. and i do think that broker may have had something of a point earlier on. the foundations of this country were laid by white, protestant, land owning males, and people of that status stayed in power for a long time. they still are, in fact, mainly in power. things are begining to even out, but white males have the advantage to get nominated for a position of power in the first place, regardless of their platforms. and, as it stands, many in power, who are, as FLUFFY-HAIR GIRL put it, unfamiliar with gays and thus afraid of them, are doing their best to make homosexuality illegal. not outright, of course, because that would put them on a level with nazis, but by taking away the rights of conventional marriage and not allowing homosexuals into certain military positions they discourage it greatly. i don't know. maybe i'm biased because i have homosexual relatives and family friends and grew up with the idea being completely natural, but the whole thing just seems plain stupid to me. i say, they're here, they're queer, quit whining about if it's "natural" and live with it.

But why not? Wouldn't ANYONE want to be compared to werewolves? I know I would. And in an astonishingly high number of fanfictions, Remus Lupin is depicted as a homosexual werewolf... and parallels are invariably drawn.

ahhh...no wonder it happens so much...moving on!
schmerg...you're just weird...in a good way, of course. you're weird like weird al is weird...
and the homosexual!remus makes me a touch angry. not because of the principle, of course, but because he tends to be paired witht sirius. and that would make him unavailable. and we fangirls can't have THAT, now can we? actually, come to think about it, that's the only problem i have with gay men - they have an annoying tendancy to be HAWT!!!! just sayin'...
